Scratch in the groove…

Ricci Rucker & Mike Boo
“If you don’t break your neck, we will” ft. Toadstyle
“Listen” ft. D-styles
“Simply Eternal Now”
from Scetchbook (2002, Ricci Rucker)

Good evening. So about a post and a half ago I promised I was gonna come thru with some music more focused on the dj. Enter Ricci Rucker & Mike Boo. I first heard Ricci Rucker when he put out the Transmissions Radio compilation and I admire the fact he was allowin a wide variety of styles to come through not to mention always reppin some FUNK in his scratchin. With Scetchbook, Rucker and Mike Boo still pushes that mindset towards their all-skratched composed album.
I dont think I give the music justice by takin these songs out of their context, the cd actually comes in a book complete with photography to accompany the tracks (like the one above), and they kind of flow as a cohesive album rather than individually. So have fun for now.

His other stuff is pretty tight!

He did a remix of Mos Def’s Sunshine (Ricci Rucker remix)off the “The New Danger” album.

  1. Ricci’s version of the new Ghostface track is easily the best.

  2. word, isn’t the buzz now he’s workin with j-dilla now or somethin? oh yea, if you folks were feelin his remixes i know you gotta be up on rrrap!
